A spring table thrown together with Charleston Stems. I love this table cloth from Roberta Roller Rabbit, I have them in several colors and they are always a hit with guests. Here the pattern plays second fiddle to Anne's brilliant flowers. As you can see, the cake didn't make it past the first photo - we have learned to keep our sugars up when crafting :).
Last summer, I collaborated with Charleston Stems in the South of France to throw a summer dinner party the celebrates the best of outdoor entertaining European style. As I lounged in the sun, cooled by the afternoon breeze and bathed ahead of a grueling photoshoot, Anne and her husband Dave pilfered the mountainside for wild eucalyptus, plundered the olive grove on the property, and scoured the region's finest markets for flowers and produce to adorn the grand teak table on the marble terrace. The result is my favorite table of all time xx

Will & I took a sneaky few days off before a shoot in Miami to celebrate our babymoon at Little Palm Island in the Florida Keys. It was absolute heaven, we spent our days kayaking through the mangroves, lounging by the pool, spotting local wildlife and playing too many competitive games of cards.
One of the most amazing things about the resort is how many key deer are on the property. I was crossing my fingers that we would see one while visiting and was not disappointed. One evening Will & I took a walk, most guests must have been tucked away in their private cabins preparing for the evening and the deer had really come out to play, we saw at least fifteen of them enjoying all of the trappings of luxury resort living.
Little Palm Island was i-phone heaven, I couldn't stop snapping away!
We had our own little lounge area outside our front door which included a hot tub and private fire pit, we spent our evenings relaxing under the stars! Can't wait to go back! xx
I am thrilled to launch a new project, Table of the Month, which I have been working on with my talented friend Anne of Charleston Stems. Each month, we plan to design and photograph an inspiration table using seasonal flowers and readily-available pieces.
This month's table was pulled together from a few of Anne's favorite personal items from her own collection. We knew we wanted to use her Bleus d'ailleurs Hermes dessert plates which we found paired well with the Ralph Lauren blue glasses. A splash of hot pink in the napkin complemented Anne's selection of flowers: ponies, ranunculus, poppies, snap peas, tulips, scabiosa and licorice vine.
The West Elm mercury votives seen below soften the scene and pair well with Anne's crystal vase.
Anne used Kumquats in her arrangements, they ripen in late winter and are perfect to bring color and warmth to a table when it's chilly out. Although best used in jellies, an adventurous guest might like to try a bite. The sour fruit contrasts with the sweet peel, it is a treat that should be enjoyed whole!
Coconut cupcakes from Charleston's own Sugar Bakeshop seemed appropriately sweet for this colorful party.

Nestled amongst the vines in Napa Valley and sprinkled in gentle light, Laurie Arons selected Meadowood as the venue for this Sunday brunch celebrating Wilhelmina & Danny. Sarah Winward's stunning flowers complement the La Tavola linens; the youngest members of the family are those with the most energy at the end of a long weekend!
This was such a fun way to shoot an engagement session. Morgan & Jacob love to visit Charleston (Jacob actually proposed here on their last trip just a few months ago and this is how we met) and so we decided to capture the pair doing some of their favorite things -- visiting the beach, enjoying gelato, exploring downtown and getting drinks at their favorite, the Ordinary!
Tasked to photograph twenty-five strangers by the incredible Jose Villa Workshop, we set about exploring the town of El Carmen. The town more than rose to the challenge, providing a wealth of beaming faces and happy poses, something tells me that they knew that we were coming!
We had the most amazing time photographing these three. It was a thousand-mile-an-hour spin around Hampton Park featuring foot races, flying frisbees, tree climbing and photography classes. We learned a lot about Minecraft and Princess Anna and managed to get some photographs for the Christmas card in the process! Thank you for having us, Tara & Russell! xx
